Stark County is outpacing both Ohio and the nation when it comes to students returning for a second year of college. Eighty-five percent of all Stark's high school graduates who go directly to college return for their sophomore year, viewed as a major step in degree persistence and completion.

Stark's 85% is for all institutions combined, public and private, 2 and 4 year, and holds true for both the Classes of 2008 and 2009.[1] Figures below are for the Class of 2008, to match the latest available for Ohio and the nation.[2]
