A Community Dream Realized and Expanded:A Canton City Downtown College Campus

The January 2015 start of the Stark State Downtown Satellite Campus in the former Cornerstone building, together with the August 2014 opening of the Well Site Training Center [1], realize a community dream.

Community conversations beginning in 1995 included the idea of a downtown campus for Stark State serving both the graduating students of Canton City and surrounding high schools as well as classes for adults working or living close to downtown Canton.

The dream expanded with the the recent boom in oil and gas development and the opportunity for  high school students to take college courses.
