Stark and Partners Awarded "ALL In: Ensuring Success for All Students" Grant

The Ohio Department of Education recently awarded $499,242 of Straight A funding to a local project entitled "All In: Ensuring Success for All Students" impacting 77,299 students! The partners include: 29 districts from six counties, Stark and Tri-County Educational Service Centers, State Support Team Region 9, local institutions of higher education, and the Stark Education Partnership.

The grant builds upon the multi-year work of the partners in developing a deeper understanding of equitable learning environments and high impact teaching for ALL students. Districts leading the way in this work see a positive impact on closing the achievement gaps and increasing successful outcomes for ALL students. Grant funding will give teachers, administrators and students opportunities to work with nationally recognized educators and local experts to adapt promising practices into their instructional design. Thus, ALL students can participate equally in high quality instruction preparing them for college and careers.

A second strand of the grant will provide year-long academies for student teams from each district. The academies will be held at partnering colleges and universities and will help students better understand their diverse strengths as well as the collective impact they can have on their community. Additionally, parents and community partners will be invited to identify and determine action steps to strengthen equity and socially just practices in the community.

Grant Program Director and State Support Team Consultant, Peg Deibel, stated"This grant provides an exciting beginning to not only supporting ALL in equitable and socially  just learning environments, but offers intentional connections to every student's support team of parents, communities and higher education."
