Ohio Joins Complete College American Web SiteComplete College America

Governor Ted Strickland announced on March 2nd  that Ohio will join Complete College America[1], a new national non-profit supported by the Carnegie Corporation of New York, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, the Ford Foundation, the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, and Lumina Foundation for Education.

The purpose of Complete College America is to provide Ohio and other states with tangible and practical support to help implement a range of strategies that will bring needed changes in the culture and practices of its public postsecondary institutions. To join the Alliance a state - in partnership with its colleges and universities - must pledge to make college completion a top priority.

They note in their assessment of the state, "too many students get lost along the way, hindering Ohio's economic growth."[2] Over the last three years, Stark County has nearly doubled the state's gain in the critical age 18 to 24 part of that pipeline.
