Two Stark Schools Listed Among America's Most Challenging High Schools

Two Stark County schools were included in The Washington Post ranking of America's Most Challenging High Schools released April 21st. Forty-three Ohio schools made the national list of 2,358 including both Jackson and Hoover High Schools.

To create the list, a "Challenge Index" formula was applied to the approximately 22,000 U.S. public high schools by taking the total number of Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate and Advanced International Certificate of Education tests given at a school each year and dividing that by the number of seniors who graduated in May or June. Schools with a ratio of at least 1.00 were put on the national list.
