Regents Award $600,000 to Coalition Led by SEP in Effort to Advance University Admissions SignCollege Access in Stark and 23 Southern Ohio Counties

The Stark Education Partnership (SEP) will be the lead agency for a coalition receiving a $600,000 College Access Challenge Grant from the Ohio Board of Regents that will span 23 southeastern Ohio counties.


Partners in the grant are:  

  • Belmont Technical College
  • Connect to Success
    (Washington State Community College)
  • Coshocton C.A.R.E.S.  
  • Lawrence County College Access Program (Ohio University)
  • Lawrence County ESC  
  • Mahoning Valley College Access Program (MVCAP)
  • OACHE   
  • Scholarship Central Access Program / Muskingum County
    Community Foundation

In addition to supporting overarching strategies found effective in Stark County such as the EXPLORE Test and the National Student Clearinghouse Student Tracker data system, the grant will strengthen the local activities of coalition partners such as dual credit, summer bridge and school year transition programs. Partners will also work with the Regents in expanding the Ohio Student Success Gateway - an online student college access portal.


Grant funded programs, which will be matched dollar for dollar by local efforts, will eventually serve some 28,000 students.
