Record Enrollment at both Malone & Stark State
Both Malone University and Stark State College announced record enrollments last month. Malone University has set a new all-time high enrollment with a headcount of 2,638 total undergraduate and graduate students representing a 7 % increase over last year. Stark State College continued its growth with a fall enrollment increase of 32.8% to an all-time record of 12,483 credit students.

Stark's College Enrollment Increases at Twice the State Rate Since 2000

The number of Stark County residents of all ages pursuing college degrees has increased nearly 50% since 2000, more than doubling the percentage growth for the state of Ohio during the same time period. Figures from the U.S. Census Bureau's 2008 American Community Survey (ACS)* released last week show that an estimated 24,763 Stark County residents** of all ages are actively pursuing undergraduate or graduate degrees.

College Enrollment on the Rise

That number represents a 48.3% increase over 2000 figures while overall growth in the state of Ohio has been 22.4%. Of Stark's number, 21,331 are enrolled as undergraduates and 3,432 are working on graduate or professional degrees.
