Gelb Honored with College Access Award

On Wednesday, SEP's Adele Gelb was honored with the Wayne F. White College Access Staff Award at the Second Annual Ohio College Access Network (OCAN) and Ohio Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (OASFAA) Conference in Columbus. The award is for Ohio's outstanding college access staff person.

  

SEP Adds Two New Board Members
The Stark Education Partnership welcomes two new board members. They are Barbara Hammontree Bennett, Partner in Hammontree and Associates, Limited and Mark Wright, Chief Financial Officer of Aultman.

Stark Now Second Among Major Ohio Counties in Percent of Adults with Associate Degrees   

  

Already surpassing the United States (7.5%) and Ohio (7.3%) in the percent of adults, 25 and over, with an Associate Degree, Stark now ranks second among Ohio's seven largest counties.  

 

In 2000, Stark was in a three way tie for fifth place among the state's major population centers. Percentages are based on the 2000 U.S. Census and 2010 American Community Survey.

Associate Degrees are offered both at Kent State University Stark and Stark State College. The institutions also offer joint Associate of Arts, Associate of Applied Business and Associate of Science Degrees.[1]
