Mia was hired in 2026 as a Career Champion with the Stark Education Partnership and is excited and grateful for this role. After spending her life working and connecting  with students in the classroom, she is looking forward to the opportunity to make new connections and relationships through Stark Education Partnership.

Mia earned her bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Walsh University and her Masters Degree from Ashland University in Curriculum and Instruction. She dedicated 39 years to serving students at Plain Local Schools and North Canton Middle School as an elementary and middle school teacher.

Throughout her career, she's had the opportunity to work with first and second graders just beginning their educational journey; helped guide middle schoolers developing who they are and who they wanted to be; and coached high school athletes. As head volleyball coach at Hoover and Perry High Schools for 32 years, Mia saw students who were nearing the end of their K-12 education and helped them decide how to move forward. All of Mia’s experiences have allowed her to see the necessity for students to connect with people who can guide them to find their own paths to success!

Mia has lived in Stark County her whole life and is very dedicated to the young people in the community.
