Thomas Botzman, Ph.D.

Post-Secondary Strategist

Tom began working with the Partnership in 2022 as our Post-Secondary Strategist. He is the retired president of the University of Mount Union following seven years as president of Misericordia University in Pennsylvania. Tom previosly served as vice president for business and finance as well as professor of economics at St. Mary’s College of Maryland. Between 1989 and 2004, Dr. Botzman served on the faculty at Mount Union College.


Earlier in his career, Tom was a visiting professor and Fulbright Scholar at the University of the Americas in Mexico City, Mexico – teaching there four times from 1992 through 1996. He was named an American Council on Education (ACE) Fellow in 2002. And, prior to becoming a faculty member, Tom worked in private industry and is the inventor of 12 U.S. patents.
